This September opportunity is full time and long term, offering the chance to work closely with children with Autism and associated learning disabilities within an inclusive school environment.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils within the Autism provision
- Delivering targeted interventions and personalised support
- Supporting communication and social skills development
- Working with pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Supporting classroom engagement and curriculum access
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Assisting with sensory activities and routines
- Recording pupil progress and achievements
- Collaborating with teachers and SEND professionals
Qualifications:
- Experienced SEND Teaching Assistant or SEND TA
- Knowledge of Autism and learning disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, positive, and resilient approach
- Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have daily contact with children and will be engaging in regulated activity. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is essential.
