Overview
Trading Analytics Analyst – 40-hour week in the United Kingdom.
This Permanent role reports to the (UK Division) Information Technology and is positioned within the Trading Analytics team.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the execution of the incentive programme and market‑making processes, in collaboration with other team members.
- Prepare timely responses to client inquiries related to the incentive programmes, from the Onboarding, RM and GCD teams.
- Investigate data and/or registration discrepancies thoroughly.
- Maintain and understand data operation processes run by the team.
- Troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Support the migration of Python scripts to the team’s data hub.
- Monitor the submissions of the FOTCBF report, collaborating with Market Data, and ensure month‑to‑date revenue figures are promptly available.
- Ensure the operational documentation of the team’s processes is up to date and comprehensive, meeting the requirements of internal and external audit teams.
- Contribute to risk review meetings by reviewing and tracking implementation of controls.
- Participate in the Volume Publication Working Group to ensure volume data publication aligns with LME Group strategic objectives.
- Create and review documentation, including meeting notes, reports’ lineage, and business terminology.
- Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, such as IT teams and business users within the Trading department, to enhance the team’s analytical offering.
- Required Knowledge and Level of Experience
- Degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
- Demonstrated academic or project experience in data analysis, programming, or quantitative problem solving.
- Exposure (academic or internship) to financial markets is advantageous but not required.
Skills and Core Competencies
- Strong coding skills in SQL (data querying, transformation) and Python (data analysis, scripting, automation).
- Experience working with large datasets and basic statistical techniques.
- Knowledge of tools such as Excel, Git, or data visualisation platforms is beneficial.
