Role: We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our Oncology Inpatient team within the Duchess of Devonshire Wing. This is an opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centred care within one of the UK's most respected independent hospitals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment
- Monitor and manage treatment-related symptoms and side effects
- Contribute to the assessment, planning and evaluation of care plans
- Work under supervision of SACT-trained nurses and progress towards achieving SACT competency
- Support patients and families with empathy, professionalism and clear communication
- Maintain the highest standards of infection prevention and control
- Participate in audits, reflective practice, and quality improvement initiatives
Skills and Experience:
- Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration
- Previous experience within an acute oncology or surgical ward environment is essential
- Competent in IV administration or willingness to complete training
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A strong interest in oncology and commitment to continued learning and professional development
