Salary: Depends on experience

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Working Pattern: Monday to Saturday, mixed shifts between 8am and 8pm, with participation in the on-call rota

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced MRI Radiographer to join The London Clinic, an independent charitable hospital in the heart of London.

You will become part of a hospital that brings together specialist expertise and a personal approach to care. Working alongside experienced colleagues across our Imaging and clinical teams, you will have opportunities to broaden your knowledge, share your skills and contribute to the service.

As a charitable hospital, we reinvest in our people, technology and facilities. If you are looking for a place where you can continue to develop, take pride in your work and make a meaningful difference to patients, we would love to hear from you.

A little about the role

As a Band 6 MRI Radiographer, you will combine technical expertise with thoughtful patient care, delivering a varied range of examinations that support diagnosis and treatment across the hospital's specialist services. The role offers a balance of independent clinical practice and support from experienced senior colleagues, with scope to build your confidence, contribute to the wider team and help maintain a reliable, high-quality MRI service.

The role includes mixed shifts Monday to Saturday between 8am and 8pm, with participation in the on call rota.

What you'll be doing:

  • Completing MRI safety screening and maintaining a safe environment for patients, colleagues and visitors.
  • Explaining examinations clearly and supporting patients before, during and after their scan.
  • Selecting and adapting examination techniques within agreed protocols, seeking senior advice when needed
  • Reviewing image quality and liaising with senior colleagues or radiologists about any additional imaging required.
  • Maintaining accurate records and helping organise the workload according to clinical priorities.
  • Supporting students and colleagues undertaking training and contributing to audit and service improvement.
  • Participating in the on-call rota following the required training and competency sign off.

What you will be part of:

Our MRI Department forms part of the wider Imaging service, supporting specialist teams across The London Clinic. With examinations delivered across four hospital locations, the department connects patients' diagnostic care with the clinical teams managing their treatment.

You will work within an experienced team led by the MRI Superintendent and Band 7 Radiographers, with access to colleagues who can offer guidance and share their specialist knowledge. It is an environment where your experience is valued and your ideas can contribute to the department's development.

As the UK's largest independent charitable hospital, we care for over 120,000 patients each year. What makes us different is what we do with that success. We reinvest it back into our services, our technology and, most importantly, our people. From developing innovative new ways of delivering care to supporting continuous learning and career progression, we're always looking ahead.

Based in our main hospital, you'll be part of a team delivering care across 234 beds, 10 theatres and a 13-bed intensive care unit. You will work alongside more than 1,300 colleagues in specialist teams and over 700 consultant surgeons and physicians, all united by a shared commitment to high quality, compassionate care.

We are incredibly proud to be the only independent healthcare provider included in the Top 10 of the Financial Times UK Best Employers Survey 2026.

What we are looking for:

  • A DCR or BSc in Radiography and current HCPC registration.
  • At least two years' MRI experience covering a broad range of examinations and clinical applications
  • Experience using computerised patient information systems and PACS.
  • Sound knowledge of MRI safety screening and examination protocols.
  • A sensitive, reassuring approach to patient care and clear communication skills.
  • The ability to organise your workload, respond to changing priorities and recognise when senior support is needed.
  • A commitment to professional development and collaborative working.
  • Flexibility to work Monday to Saturday, with mixed shifts between 8am and 8pm and participation in the on call rota.
  • Qualification and experience in administering intravenous contrast would be desirable, as would an interest in contributing to departmental learning through study sessions or presentations.

What's in it for you:

  • Life insurance: Get life cover worth four times your salary, whether you're full time or part time.
  • Private medical cover: Once you've passed probation, our employee medical scheme gives you fast-track access to private healthcare.
  • Pension: Join our pension scheme and enjoy matched contributions.
  • Employee assistance programme: From stress to practical guidance, our counselling service is available to support you.
  • Blue Light Card: Access thousands of discounts across supermarkets, holidays, fashion, technology and days out.
  • Cycle to work: Access tax free benefits while supporting a healthier and greener commute.
