We have an excellent opportunity for a Band 7 Theatre Scrub Practitioner to join our Theatre team at The London Clinic as our Theatre Coordinator. Situated in the heart of Marylebone, our hospital is known for delivering outstanding care across complex surgery and medicine, with 10 cutting-edge theatres and a leading cancer centre. Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK's largest private hospitals, with 8 state-of-the-art facilities located in the heart of London's medical community around Harley Street. Job Profile:

  • Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Saturday, rota based)
  • Location: 20 Devonshire Place, London W1G 6BW

About the role:

As our Theatre Coordinator, you'll provide day-to-day clinical and operational leadership across our busy theatres. You'll play a key role in ensuring theatre activity is run safely, efficiently and in line with national and AfPP standards, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and managing a wide range of surgical specialties. This is a hands-on leadership post, with responsibilities spanning staffing coordination, performance support, governance, equipment oversight, and supporting the Deputy Theatre Manager.

You’ll be expected to:

  • Lead the daily coordination of lists and staffing
  • Support the team in delivering safe, person-centred care
  • Maintain CQC and HTA standards across the department
  • Provide mentorship and training for theatre staff
  • Deputise for senior managers when needed
  • Support with audits, investigations, and service improvements

Skills and Experience:

We’re looking for someone confident, collaborative and clinically credible, with strong coordination skills and a calm, organised approach. You should have:

  • NMC or HCPC registration (as a registered nurse or ODP)
  • At least five years of post-registration theatre experience
  • At least three years' experience at senior level across multiple specialties
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing staff
  • A good understanding of electronic rostering and clinical documentation systems
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills
