We have an exciting opportunity for a Stores Assistant/Porter to join us here at The London Clinic. We are offering a competitive inclusive salary starting at £23,608 per annum dependant on skills and experience.

Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK’s largest private hospitals, with 8 state-of-the-art facilities, and circa 1350 employees where we are dedicated to providing our patients with expert, individualised treatment and care. Our main hospital spans 8 floors comprising of 150+ patient beds and 10 operating theatres, including a Hybrid theatre and two minimally invasive/day surgery theatres. Speciality areas include, General surgery; ENT; Gynaecology; Hepatobiliary; Neuro-spinal; Ophthalmic; Orthopaedic; Plastic and reconstructive; Robotic; Urology; Vascular & Weight loss surgery (bariatric surgery).

Job Profile

Responsible for checking all incoming Goods to the Clinic, when employed on the Goods Delivery Bay and matching deliveries against delivery notes and purchase orders once a delivery has been received. Processing replenishment orders for departments, picking items and topping up stocks. Delivering stock and non-stock items to end user departments and obtaining signatures

  • Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.
  • Job Location: Across TLC locations based in and around Harley Street, London
  • Shifts: Monday – Friday 8am-4pm
  • Salary: Salary range starting from £23,608 per annum

Key Duties

  • Responsible for checking all incoming Goods to the Clinic, when employed on the Goods Delivery Bay and matching deliveries against delivery notes and purchase orders once a delivery has been received.
  • Carrying out daily checks of “par stock levels” both in allocated areas around the London Clinic as directed by the Stores Manager or Senior Stores Supervisor. Processing replenishment orders as required, picking and delivering.
  • Ensuring stock levels are maintained in accordance with the “top up” sheets.
  • Advising the Stores Keepers of any necessary stock adjustments with regard to damaged/time expired items from departments.
  • Booking in of deliveries as required including labelling all stock-items in accordance with the “Peel and Stick” system employed at the London Clinic.
  • Carrying out daily checks on Nursing Floors and throughout the main site and Duchess of Devonshire Wing, to ensure previously agreed stock levels are maintained.

Skills & Experience

  • Has a working knowledge of a Stores/ Purchasing environment.
  • Is computer literate including operating purchasing systems and using Excel & Word.
  • Has a knowledge of stock control and purchasing procedures.
  • Has a working knowledge of stores procedures including: Stock Rotation, Stocktaking, Stock Replenishments
  • Good basic understanding of English and Mathematics
  • Able to follow instructions accurately and in a timely fashion
