The role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Technician to join our dedicated Engineering and Estates team at one of London's leading private hospitals. In this vital role, you will play a key part in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our hospital's electrical systems and infrastructure.
The post holder will be responsible for technical fault finding, diagnosis, testing, and repair across a wide range of engineering plant and equipment, including emergency lighting systems, electrical distribution, general and specialist lighting, fire detection systems, standby generator plant, security access control, nurse call systems, and lifts.
You will carry out both reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM), as well as visual inspections, remedial works, minor improvements, and support capital projects as directed. Working within a fast-paced clinical environment, you will play an essential role in maintaining compliance, supporting operational continuity, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Duties
- To work in accordance with the requirements of the electrical HTMs, statutory regulations, IET wiring regulations and TLC policies.
- To ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner following the appropriate risk assessment at all times.
- Undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities at the request of the management.
- Undertake reactive repair works as directed by the helpdesk.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance inspections in accordance with Clinic procedures.
- Undertake technical fault finding on complex electrical systems and equipment.
- Follow detailed electrical drawings and specifications, interpret and follow all relevant regulations at all times.
- Use all relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works.
- To be a member of the Clinic's emergency team for fire, security and lift entrapments.
- To ensure own personal health and safety and that of other workers by attention to surroundings and hazards.
- To abide by the policies of the Clinic, including responsibilities for health and safety and fire procedures.
- To ensure that any mandatory training or continuous professional development requirements relevant to your role are met at all times.
- To maintain confidentiality of the Clinic's patient records, employee information and business information at all times, in accordance with department/directorate procedures and the Clinic's data protection policies.
- To attend department team meetings and other meetings as appropriate.
Additional Duties:
- To attend work as necessary on rest days to cover sickness, training courses or other works that may have an adverse effect on service if adequate staffing levels are not maintained. For which additional payment will be made.
- Travel away from The London Clinic with overnight stays to attend courses, symposiums or assess new plant may be required from time to time.

Week 1 - Days, 7am-7pm
Week 2 - Days, 7am-7pm
Week 3 - Nights, 7pm-7am
Skills and Experience
- City & Guilds 2365 Qualification
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering OR City & Guilds 2357 level 3 NVQ Diploma
- Holds an 18th Edition wiring regulations (BS 7671) qualification
- LVAP Qualification - desirable (we can support training for this qualification)
- Significant experience as a qualified electrical working within commercial properties.
- Good communication skills
