We are currently seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Patient Support Co-ordinator to join our Cancer Services team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for co-ordinating and booking Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy, Haematology appointments, ensuring that treatment schedules which are often complex and time-sensitive are managed with accuracy and care. You will play a key role in supporting the smooth flow of patients through the wards, working closely with ward clerks, consultants, nursing staff, secretaries, and patients themselves.

This is a patient-facing role involving both telephone and in-person communication, requiring excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing outstanding administrative and customer service support. Strong attention to detail is essential, as any scheduling errors can disrupt carefully planned treatment regimes. The position carries a high level of responsibility and offers the rewarding opportunity to build relationships with patients and be an integral part of their cancer care journey.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work closely with the nursing team, pharmacy, consultants and secretaries to provide support in the patient referral pathway.
  • Act as point of contact for all patients ensuring a professional and efficient service.
  • Confirming receipt of referrals and registration for all patients referred for Radiotherapy, Chemotherapy, Haematology.
  • Providing all patients with a courtesy call within 24 hours of receiving the referral.
  • Communicating with the clinical teams to ensure the referral is effectively processed.
  • Provide the patients with all the information required regarding their appointments at The London Clinic.
  • Request dataset, medical images and previous treatment information from other secretaries and hospitals.
  • Liaising with the internal Patient Liaison Office (PLO) to ensure insurer authorisation or self-payment is sought to allow bookings to proceed.
  • Manage scheduling of appointments and activities for patients, consultants, and staff.
  • Ensure accurate data is entered into MOSAIQ, Aria and Meditech for all referrals, in line with agreed processes.
  • Ensure the relevant documents received have been filed and scanned into MOSAIQ.
  • Ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained in respect of personal information in accordance with The London Clinic policies and statutory legislation.
  • Ensure all patients always experience the highest levels of service.

  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Evidence of good written and verbal communication skills with an excellent telephone manner.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure, able to prioritise tasks and work under own direction.
  • Good MS Office skills.
