We have an exciting opportunity for a Modern Matron (Oncology and Haematology) to lead our cancer nursing teams at The London Clinic. This role is based at the Duchess of Devonshire Wing in London, W1G 6JA, with a competitive salary range of £68,000 - £78,000 per annum (Band 8b/8c equivalent). About the Duchess of Devonshire Wing: This dedicated cancer centre spans 8 floors, featuring state-of-the-art radiotherapy and chemotherapy suites, along with 47 patient bedrooms. We utilize the latest advances in cancer treatment, including surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy.
Job Profile: This influential leadership role involves providing visible, inclusive, and approachable senior nursing leadership across the oncology and haematology services, overseeing approximately 100 staff. You will manage Ward Managers and Clinical Nurse Specialists, inspiring teams to deliver outstanding, person-centered care and continuous improvements in patient safety and experience.
Reports to: Chief Nurse
Type: Full-time, permanent, 37.5 hours/week
Shift: Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:30, with flexibility

Salary: £68,000 - £78,000, dependent on experience

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage Ward/Unit Managers and Oncology CNS teams across various specialties
- Provide professional leadership for the nursing workforce in Cancer Care
- Implement cancer services strategy and ensure operational excellence
- Lead, motivate, and inspire nursing teams to enhance patient care, safety, and outcomes
- Manage human, financial, and physical resources effectively within budget
- Promote continuous quality improvement and patient-centered care
- Ensure effective recruitment, induction, staff development, and wellbeing programs
- Participate in a Silver on Call rota
Skills & Experience:
- RGN with valid NMC registration and experience in cancer nursing leadership
- Proven people management skills, especially in leading specialist cancer teams
- Leadership qualities to influence and motivate teams
- Experience in performance management and service improvement through governance and feedback
- Ability to evaluate outcomes and drive continuous improvement
