About Us: The London Clinic is a respected independent charitable hospital with a long history of delivering safe, high quality care supported by a strong clinical governance structure. Patient safety sits at the centre of how we operate, and our governance processes are well established and taken seriously across the organisation. Our Clinical Governance team works closely with clinical departments to ensure incidents are reviewed properly, learning is shared and improvements are monitored with accuracy. The Patient Safety and Compliance function plays an important part in maintaining these standards and supporting the safe delivery of care throughout the hospital.
About the Role: We are seeking a Patient Safety and Compliance Officer to join our Clinical Governance team. This role supports the Patient Safety Manager and plays an important part in ensuring that our patient safety processes run to a high standard. You will help maintain the integrity of our governance records, support clinical teams with safety improvements, and contribute to the way we review incidents and measure outcomes. It is a role that suits someone who values structure, accuracy and a strong culture of accountability. You will work closely with colleagues across the hospital to coordinate actions, track improvements and assist with the administration of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework. This is a role where attention to detail and a confident approach to managing information make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework processes, ensuring incidents are reported, investigated and followed through in line with policy.
- Work with clinical teams to identify and support improvement actions.
- Maintain accurate governance records and support the reporting of patient safety activities.
- Monitor and update DatixWeb actions and liaise with teams to progress completion.
- Assist with patient safety campaigns including weekly safety messages.
- Provide administrative support for audits and compliance activities.
- Work with the Clinical Governance Analyst to support DatixWeb system management.
- Maintain team supplies and support day to day office operations.
- Contribute to the wider culture of safety across the hospital.
Skills and Experience:
- Administrative experience within a healthcare environment.
- Good working knowledge of patient safety principles and clinical governance.
- Confident user of Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Skilled in analysing information and managing data.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise.
- Clear communicator who can work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience of DatixWeb is desirable but not essential.
- Understanding of CQC standards and regulatory requirements is an advantage.
