This Medical Secretary role is an important part of that journey, helping to coordinate specialist services, support clinical teams and ensure patients receive the highest standard of care from referral through to treatment.
The Role
This is a varied and rewarding role where you will help coordinate specialist patient and donor pathways within a highly specialised clinical service. Working closely with clinicians, patients, donor organisations and external partners, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth delivery of stem cell collection services and supporting patients throughout their treatment journey.
We're looking for a highly organised administrator with strong audio typing skills, exceptional attention to detail and experience working within a healthcare environment. You will be confident managing sensitive information, prioritising competing demands and maintaining accuracy within a busy service. This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys working collaboratively, takes pride in delivering high quality administrative support and understands the important contribution that non-clinical teams make to patient care.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing comprehensive administrative support to the Stem Cell Collection Service.
- Coordinating donor medicals, stem cell collections and related appointments.
- Audio typing medical reports, referrals, discharge summaries and clinical correspondence.
- Managing documentation and administration for donor organisations including Anthony Nolan, DKMS and NHS Stem Cell Donor Registry programmes.
- Maintaining accurate patient records using systems such as MOSAIQ and DGL.
- Liaising with patients, clinicians, donor organisations, insurance companies and other external stakeholders.
- Supporting the day to day running of the department through effective office administration.
- Ensuring confidential patient information is always handled accurately and professionally.

- Strong audio typing skills.
- Experience using MOSAIQ and/or DGL.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience within private healthcare.
