We are looking for an enthusiastic Lead Pharmacist-Governance on a Fixed Term Contract to join our dynamic Pharmacy Department at The London Clinic in Central London (W1G 7L). This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's most respected private hospitals. We are offering a competitive salary Band 8a equivalent per annum based on skills and experience.

We have approximately 1300 employees across 8 sites, covering a broad range of specialisms, including complex medical and surgical procedures and a comprehensive range of cancer and outpatient services.

This role serves as the Governance Lead for the London Clinic Pharmacy and the Medication Safety Officer (MSO) for the organisation. The post-holder will provide strategic oversight of all governance activity in alignment with the Clinic's governance framework and national standards and ensure robust medication safety, compliance and quality improvement across pharmacy services.

Job Type & Shift Pattern: This is a permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week.

Salary: Band 8a per annum based on skills and experience.

Key Duties:

  • Act as the Medication Safety Officer (MSO) for the London Clinic
  • Lead and oversee clinical audit programmes
  • Manage incident response and lead root cause analyses (RCA) for pharmacy-related events.
  • Represent pharmacy at the safety governance committees and quality meetings.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and policy development.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical effectiveness standards (NICE, CQC, accreditations)
  • Oversee risk management
  • Lead pharmacy preparation for CQC inspections

Skills and Duties:

  • Minimum 5 years post-registration hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Completed comprehensive clinical hospital rotations with a breadth of experience across specialities.
  • Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience supporting audits, implementing service improvements and managing associated risk.
  • Experience in medicines information and mentoring pharmacy staff.
  • Experience developing and writing policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy
  • GPhC-Registration
  • Ongoing CPD to maintain Fitness to practice.
