We have an exciting opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to join our Catering and Kitchens team at The London Clinic, based at our main hospital site in London (W1G 6BW). We are offering a competitive inclusive salary of £24,856 per annum.

Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK’s largest private hospitals, with 8 state-of-the-art facilities, and circa 1350 employees where we are dedicated to providing our patients with expert, individualised treatment and care. Our main hospital spans 8 floors comprising of 150+ patient beds and 10 operating theatres, including a Hybrid theatre and two minimally invasive/day surgery theatres.

As a Kitchen Porter you will assist the Kitchen Porter Supervisor and Back of House Manager on a daily basis with relevant tasks to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen operations, ensuring a high standard of hygiene in all relevant areas in accordance with relevant regulations and legislation. To follow best practices, SOP’s and company Food Safety policy at all times.

Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week.

Shift Pattern: We operate a flexible shift pattern (Early & Late shifts) 7am – 4pm / 1pm – 10pm, covering the service from Monday to Sunday working 5 days from 7.

Job Location: 20 Devonshire Place, London, W1G 6BW (Close to Regents Park/Baker St tube stations).

Key Duties
  • Receiving/Moving Deliveries in timely manner into appropriate areas as to ensure safety
  • Ensure correct stock rotation on daily basis
  • Following cleaning schedules and tasks as to ensure cleanliness in relevant areas
  • Following COSHH principles and training at all times
  • Assist in the organisation of the day's workload with the assistance of the supervisor
Skills & Experience
  • Level 1 Food Hygiene or higher
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a busy kitchen setting
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • You will be self-motivated and be able to work without supervision
  • Ability to adapt to the everchanging needs of the team
