We are seeking an experienced procurement and supply chain leader to oversee a complex healthcare procurement function with an annual spend of approximately £75m across medical, pharmaceutical, estates, IT, and professional services categories. Leading a team of c35 across Procurement, EBME, and Stores, this role will drive operational efficiency, procurement transformation, supplier performance, and cost improvement initiatives, while supporting patient safety and sustainability objectives across the organisation. A key focus of the role is continuing to build on the strong team culture and high staff engagement established within the function. Following a period of significant positive change, the successful candidate will be a visible and collaborative leader who can maintain trust, stability, and development across the team while delivering strategic and commercial objectives.

Key Duties
- Provide strategic procurement and supply chain leadership across a broad range of categories with annual spend of c£75 million.
- Lead and develop a team of 35 across Procurement, EBME and Stores, maintaining high levels of engagement, collaboration and performance.
- Drive efficiencies, patient safety and standardisation through automation, inventory management and Genesis.
- Lead the standardisation initiatives that are in flight, with the team, to ensure successful delivery and ongoing compliance monitoring.
- Lead team to ensure delivery of the Procurement Cost Improvement Programme.
- Support capital equipment planning and maintain oversight of the medical equipment risk register.
- Chair the monthly Supply Chain Exec meetings.
- Support managers in department to chair the quarterly Medical Equipment and Point of Care Committee and quarterly Contracts & Relationship Management Group.
- Support rollout of new contracts repository and contract management and sustainability initiatives across Procurement & Supply Chain.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships internally and externally to drive best practice and informed decision-making.
- Lead team to ensure continuous improvement of management reporting and savings analysis.
Skills and Experience
- Significant senior-level healthcare procurement and supply chain leadership experience.
- Proven track record delivering procurement strategy, cost improvement and operational efficiencies.
- Strong leadership skills with experience developing high-performing, engaged teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain best practice, including UK contract law.
- Commercially astute with sound judgement and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to influence, motivate and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
