The Head of Philanthropy Operations will play a central role in shaping and delivering this next phase. This position offers both strategic and hands-on leadership, with responsibility for building the operational infrastructure, governance, and processes that underpin a high-performing fundraising function within a complex healthcare environment.

Working closely with the Director of Philanthropy and senior stakeholders, you will translate ambition into action, strengthening systems and infrastructure, enhancing gift management and reporting, and helping to embed a culture of philanthropy across the organisation. You will bring experience from within the fundraising sector, alongside a strong understanding of the operational foundations required to support successful philanthropic programmes.

  • Translate fundraising strategy into effective delivery, building processes that support donor engagement, stewardship and growth.
  • Oversee gift processing, financial tracking and reporting, working closely with finance to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop and embed policies, due diligence and governance frameworks to support ethical and sustainable fundraising.
  • Drive continuous improvement in systems, data management and operational performance.

Experience working within the fundraising or philanthropy sector, with a strong understanding of fundraising operations. Experience of CRM systems (e.g. Raiser’s Edge) and using data to inform decision-making. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. Knowledge of compliance, governance and regulatory requirements in a fundraising or similarly regulated environment.
