We are seeking skilled and motivated Scrub Nurses to join our world-class Theatre team at The London Clinic. This is an exciting opportunity for practitioners with experience in General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Vascular Surgery, and/or Gynaecology (including robotic-assisted procedures) to work alongside some of the UK's leading consultants in a highly specialised surgical environment. You will play a key role in delivering exceptional perioperative care, providing direct and skilled assistance to surgeons, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and aseptic technique throughout procedures. This position offers exposure to a wide range of surgical specialties, encouraging continuous learning and professional growth within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and check surgical instruments, consumables, and equipment before each case, ensuring readiness and efficiency.
- Scrub in and assist during surgical procedures, anticipating the needs of the surgeon and maintaining a sterile field throughout.
- Uphold strict infection prevention and control standards and ensure compliance with theatre policies.
- Accurately complete intraoperative documentation, instrument counts, and patient care records.
- Contribute to the smooth coordination of theatre lists and patient handovers.
- Support junior staff, students, and colleagues, promoting a culture of learning and teamwork.
- Participate in WHO safety checks, audits, and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Registered Nurse (Adult) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC or NMC registered)
- Proven scrub experience in an acute hospital setting
- Sound knowledge of infection prevention and perioperative standards
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive, organised, and safety-focused approach to clinical practice
- Desirable experience includes previous exposure to robotic-assisted Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, or Vascular Surgery within a private or NHS setting.
