Key Duties
- Welcome and support patients attending for oncology treatments and consultations
- Provide assistance with personal care, mobility, comfort, and nutritional needs
- Monitor and report patient observations to the nursing team
- Prepare treatment areas, equipment, and materials for clinical procedures
- Work in accordance with infection prevention and control standards
- Maintain accurate records of care provided
- Help to ensure the department remains clean, well‑organised, and stocked
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a hospital or clinical setting is essential
- Experience in oncology or outpatient care is desirable, but not essential
- A caring and patient‑focused approach, with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Care Certificate or NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards this
