We are looking for an experienced and credible people leader to join our People Leadership Team as Head of People Partnering. This senior role will suit someone with a strong track record of influencing at Executive level, leading high-performing teams and driving complex organisational change. You will bring deep expertise in employee relations, workforce planning and employment law, alongside the confidence to use data and insight to shape decisions. Above all, you will be motivated to build a progressive, inclusive culture where people practices directly enable outstanding performance and experience.

Key Duties
- Strategic Leadership
- Act as a Senior Partner to the Executive team and Heads of Service, building strong, trusted relationships to influence and shape workforce priorities.
- Translate organisational objectives into forward looking people plans that support service delivery, growth and innovation.
- Proactively drive the use of workforce data to enable evidence based decision making and proactive workforce planning.
- Play a leading role in organisational change and transformation programmes, ensuring people impacts are well managed, planned and leaders are supported throughout.
- Seek opportunities to enhance the employee experience, supporting retention, engagement and performance.
- Governance, Reporting and Compliance
- Provide reports on workforce KPIs, risks, and initiatives to drive improvements for Executive and Trustee Committees.
- Ensure compliance with employment law, regulatory requirements (e.g. CQC), and internal governance frameworks.
- Promote the use of workforce insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Team Leadership and Development
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, setting clear expectations around performance, behaviours and outcomes.
- Build a high performance culture, under pinned by high support - providing challenge, feedback and development opportunities whilst ensuring that team members feel empowered and valued.
- Encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing across the whole of the People team, ensuring a consistent and joined up service.
- Encourage development and professional growth, building capability for the future.
- Employee Relations
- Oversee the management of complex and sensitive ER cases, ensuring a fair, consistent and timely resolution aligned with employment law and the hospital values.
- Provide guidance to senior leaders and managers on disciplinary, grievance, performance management and absence cases.
- Identify ER trends and themes, supporting early interventions and capability building for managers.
- Occupational Health
- Oversee a high-quality occupational health service, supporting staff wellbeing and safe patient care.
- Ensure compliance with health checks, immunisation and fitness to work requirements.
- Create and lead campaigns to promote staff health and wellbeing.
Skills and Experience
- Proven ability to lead change, influence senior leaders.
- Demonstrated experience of leading, motivating and developing high performing teams within a supportive coaching environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law, governance requirements and regulatory compliance in a healthcare / similar environment.
- Demonstrable experience in managing complex ER issues and overseeing OH services.
- Experience using people data and insight to drive decisions and plan.
- Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and challenge at Executive level.
- Deep commitment to creating a psychologically safe and respectful workforce culture.
