We have an exciting opportunity for a Fire Safety Business Partner to join our Health and Safety team at The London Clinic, based at our main site in London (W1G 6BW). Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK's largest private hospitals, with 8 state-of-the-art facilities located in the heart of London's medical community around Harley Street. We have circa 1350 employees, and we are dedicated to providing our patients with expert, individualised treatment and care.

With a large amount of capital development planned, this is an exciting time to join The London Clinic and to provide professional fire safety guidance and support from the very outset of these developments.

Job Profile: As the Fire Safety Business Partner, you will be the lead (authorised person) for fire safety, including fire safety emergency preparedness, resilience and response. One of the main functions of this role will be to manage, organise, implement, coordinate and maintain efficient fire prevention measures, including organising and/or delivering fire safety training, drills etc. This is a diverse role that spans all services and activities of The London Clinic, with responsibility for advising on technical fire matters and for providing pragmatic fire safety guidance and day to day operational fire safety support.

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hours per week), or open to Part Time. Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day. Job Location: On site, working across The London Clinic Estate in central London/hybrid working.

Salary: We are offering a competitive inclusive salary of circa £50k.

Key Duties:

  • Providing expert advice on fire legislation and expert technical advice on the application and interpretation of fire safety guidance, including the Building Safety Act 2024.
  • Reviewing and being the action lead for ensuring actions identified in fire risk assessments are addressed.
  • Reviewing and updating the content of fire safety policy.
  • Carrying out fire safety inspections and audits, and preparing fire prevention and emergency evacuation plans.
  • Investigating all fire-related incidents and fire alarm actuations.

Skills & Experience: The post-holder will need to be in possession of a minimum Level 4 qualification in Fire Safety (or equivalent standard), and proven fire safety experience of working in organisations similar in size/complexity to The London Clinic. Significant fire safety experience, ideally in a complex healthcare environment. Working knowledge and an understanding of fire safety legislation, including the Building Safety Act 2024, British Standards pertaining to fire safety (BS9999/BS9991) and HTMs. You will have a good understanding of emergency preparedness, resilience and response and developing practical emergency evacuation plans. The successful applicant will be flexible, pragmatic and have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and be able to deliver theoretical and practical training that is both engaging and memorable. The ability to develop the fire safety policy and produce fire/emergency procedures; the ideal candidate will have experience of working closely with Health and Safety colleagues, Projects and Estates Teams.
