We have an exciting opportunity for an e-Rostering Lead to join our People team. This role is based in our Head Office in Central London (NW1 4LJ), with a hybrid working model. We are also offering a competitive salary of circa £55,000 per annum plus a fantastic array of benefits.

As part of our commitment to innovation, efficiency, and patient safety, we are looking for an experienced eRostering Lead to take ownership of our electronic rostering systems and drive best practices across the organisation. This is a strategic and operational leadership role focused on enhancing safe staffing, service efficiency, and workforce flexibility. You will work closely with clinical departments, Temporary Staffing, Finance, and senior leadership to optimise how we plan and deploy our people.
Please note: This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of three days per week onsite. During the early stages of the role, a higher onsite presence will be expected to ensure effective engagement, build relationships, and establish strong visibility across departments.
As the eRostering Lead, you will be responsible for the management, optimisation, and development of our HealthRoster system (including SafeCare, BankStaff, and RosterPerform). You will lead system operations, deliver training, ensure effective usage across departments, and support rostering-related decision-making through accurate reporting and analysis.
Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee the day-to-day performance and development of HealthRoster for all staff groups across the hospital.
- Work in partnership with the Temporary Staffing team to manage gaps, improve bank usage, and maintain safe staffing levels.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to align rostering with financial plans, budgets, and cost-saving objectives.
- Deliver accurate, timely, and policy-compliant rosters that support service demand, regulatory compliance, and employee wellbeing.
- Lead new implementations, system upgrades, and functionality enhancements in partnership with system suppliers.
- Run audits to assess how HealthRoster is currently being used, identify gaps in functionality or process, and implement plans for full system utilisation across all departments.
- Develop and deliver tailored training sessions to ensure confident, consistent usage by roster creators and department leads.
- Analyse workforce data to provide actionable insights and generate reports for managers and senior leadership.
- Support audits, contribute to governance reviews, and champion continuous improvement in rostering practices.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a confident, data-literate, and systems-focused professional with a proven track record in rostering within a healthcare environment.
Essential experience:
- Previous experience in an independent hospital or NHS trust.
- In-depth expertise in managing and supporting the HealthRoster system (including SafeCare, BankStaff, and RosterPerform).
- Experience creating and optimising clinical and non-clinical rosters using both auto-rostering and manual methods.
- Proven ability to lead rostering system rollouts, upgrades, and user adoption initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with clinical teams, Temporary Staffing, Finance, HR, and IT.
- Experience producing accurate KPI reports and analysing rostering data to support operational decision-making.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and training delivery skills.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with integrating rostering systems with HR or payroll platforms.
- Clinical background or experience working closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
