As a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse, you will provide expert clinical care while supporting the day-to-day running of the Oncology Outpatients unit. We are looking for an experienced oncology nurse who combines strong clinical skills with a genuine passion for patient care and team development.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based oncology nursing care
- Administer SACT and supportive treatments safely and effectively
- Support patients through treatment by recognising and managing treatment-related toxicities
- Undertake pre-treatment assessments and utilise UKONS triage tools
- Act as Nurse in Charge and deputise for the Unit Manager when required
- Support, mentor and develop Band 5 nurses, healthcare assistants and student nurses
- Work closely with consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
- Contribute to service development, governance, audit and quality improvement initiatives
- Help maintain a positive, supportive and learning-focused team culture
