Be part of the clinical engine room helping make medicines safer, smarter and more personal for every patient. This is a brilliant opportunity for a Foundation Pharmacist (Band 6 NHS equivalent) to grow into confident clinical practice in a supportive, high‑performing private hospital environment. You’ll build your clinical confidence through hands‑on learning and day‑to‑day pharmacy practice, support safe and effective medicine use for inpatients and outpatients, and get variety – no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a high‑quality, patient‑focused clinical pharmacy service across a range of specialist wards.
- Gain experience across diverse areas including renal/urology, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, colorectal, gastroenterology and plastics.
- Play a key role in improving the patient experience through service development and innovation.
- Champion safe, effective and optimal use of medicines across the hospital.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to enhance care on the wards.
- Provide clear, proactive medicines advice and education to patients and healthcare professionals.
- Lead on medicines optimisation at admission and discharge, supporting safe and timely patient journeys.
- Liaise with primary care teams to ensure seamless continuity of care after discharge.
- Promote safe, effective and cost‑conscious prescribing across clinical areas.
- Support specialist services such as Parenteral Nutrition (following accreditation).
- Get involved in audit, governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and advise on the safe management of controlled drugs within clinical areas.
- Support the training and induction of pharmacy colleagues, including MMPTs.
- Prescribe as a Non‑Medical Prescriber (once qualified) in line with policy.
