What you\’ll be doing

  • Reconciliation of departmental cash sheet entries against departmental takings
  • Prepare daily figures of transactions posted
  • To empty and reconcile the Girovend and cash handling machines (cover only)
  • Process the daily BACS receipts, cheques and credit card payments ensuring they are allocated in a timely manner
  • Ensure that Unallocated cash (new and historic) is allocated
  • Liaise with Credit Controllers/Hospitals and Insurance companies to obtain missing Remittance Advices for payments
  • To maintain accurate records of activity on the Finance system and Key all single transactions on to the correct patient account
  • Receive departmental daily takings that have been deposited in nightly safes
  • Prepare and balance daily takings and input on relevant cash sheets in a timely manner
  • Prepare banking slips for security collection
  • Produce the audit report from all batched entries and present daily to Finance
  • To open post for credit management and bank/post to appropriate accounts any cheques received
  • Pass all patient correspondence relating to a query or complaint to Senior Cash Collector and address any variance immediately with The Head of Billing and Credit
