Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality, evidence-based oncology nursing care.
- Administer SACT and supportive treatments safely and effectively.
- Support patients through treatment by recognising and managing treatment‑related toxicities.
- Undertake pre‑treatment assessments and utilise UKONS triage tools.
- Act as Nurse in Charge and deputise for the Unit Manager when required.
- Support, mentor and develop Band 5 nurses, healthcare assistants and student nurses.
- Work closely with consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.
- Contribute to service development, governance, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
- Help maintain a positive, supportive and learning‑focused team culture.
What you’ll be doing
- Be NMC registered as an adult nurse.
- Possess a UK‑accredited chemotherapy qualification with evidence of competency.
- Have experience administering SACT treatments.
- Have at least 2 years post registration experience within an oncology setting.
- Have experience taking charge of shifts and supporting junior staff.
- Demonstrate strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- Hold an SACT and IV passport competency.
- Have phlebotomy, cannulation and CVAD management skills.
- Experience within ambulatory oncology services, acute oncology services or private healthcare is advantageous.
