We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance Team at The London Clinic, based at our head office in London (NW1 4LJ). We are offering a competitive inclusive salary range of £35,000 – £40,000 per annum, dependant on experience.
Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK’s largest private hospitals, with 8 state-of-the-art facilities, and circa 1350 employees where we are dedicated to providing our patients with expert, individualised treatment and care. Our main hospital spans 8 floors comprising of 150+ patient beds and 10 operating theatres, including a Hybrid theatre and two minimally invasive/day surgery theatres. Speciality areas include, General surgery; ENT; Gynaecology; Hepatobiliary; Neuro-spinal; Ophthalmic; Orthopaedic; Plastic and reconstructive; Robotic; Urology; Vascular & Weight loss surgery (bariatric surgery).
Job Profile
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance Team and become a strong member of our team. Candidates should be well organised with an ability to prioritise and manage time effectively. Candidates should have experience in dealing with understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and financial analysis techniques. We are looking for a good team player who is able to contribute to the success of the Finance team with a blend of technical expertise, interpersonal skills, and personal qualities that contribute to the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations within our team. This role provides the opportunity to step into a collaborative Finance team and involves producing, value-add financial information and supporting to the management accounting team within the finance team.
- Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.
- Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday 9am to 5.30pm
- Job Location: 1 Park Square West, London, NW1 – 4LJ (Close to Regents Park/Baker St tube stations).
- Salary: The attractive inclusive salary range for this role is £35,000 – £40,000 per annum, dependant on experience.

Key Duties
- Financial Analysis: Assisting in the analysis of financial data to provide insights into business performance, trends, and variances. This may involve examining income statements and balance sheets.
- Cost Analysis: Helping to analyse costs associated with production, operations, or projects to identify areas for cost reduction or efficiency improvements.
- Month-end Close: Participating in month-end and year-end close processes by reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and assisting with financial reporting requirements and to produce balance sheet reconciliations.
- Financial Reporting: Supporting the preparation of internal management reports as well as external financial reports required by regulatory bodies or stakeholders.
- Variance Analysis: Assisting in the investigation of variances between actual and budgeted figures to understand reasons for deviations and to provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Ad Hoc Projects : Participating in special projects or initiatives as assigned by management, which may involve process improvement initiatives, or other ad hoc tasks.
- Compliance and Regulation : Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and accounting standards in all financial activities
