About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor / Warehouse Team Leader to join a leading plumbing materials business at their Rochester site. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring operational efficiency, stock accuracy, and full compliance with health & safety procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional looking to develop their career within a well-established and growing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the daily management of warehouse operations, ensuring all orders are processed and dispatched efficiently.
- Assist with picking, packing, goods receiving, stock control, and general warehouse activities (stock will be anything from 15ml fittings to 1000ml pipes).
- Lead warehouse teams and daily operations in the absence of the Warehouse Manager.
- Ensure workloads are managed effectively to achieve operational targets and service levels.
Health & Safety
- Support with maintaining a safe working environment for all colleagues.
- Ensure all warehouse activities comply with company Health & Safety policies and current legislation.
- Complete Health & Safety checks and inspections within required timescales.
Stock Control & Inventory
- Support the Warehouse Manager with stock management and warehouse layout planning.
- Conduct regular Perpetual Inventory (PI) Counts to maintain stock accuracy and integrity.
- Investigate stock discrepancies and identify root causes.
- Implement practical solutions to improve stock control processes and reduce errors.
Quality & Customer Service
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and quality standards, including ISO9001 and ISO14001 requirements.
- Deliver high levels of customer service through accurate and timely order fulfilment.
- Support the reduction of picking and dispatch errors.
- Ensure goods received are checked, stored, and processed accurately within warehouse systems.
Key Requirements
- Previous experience within a Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse Team Leader, or Senior Warehouse Operative position.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and warehouse compliance procedures.
- Strong communication, organisation, and workload management skills.
- Experience supervising or supporting warehouse teams.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office (Kerridge experience advantageous).
- Positive and proactive approach with strong leadership potential.
