Recruitment Delivery & Account Development Consultant – Temporary Staffing

Totton, Southampton c£30,000–£35,000 depending on experience + monthly commission Full-time, permanent | Office-based with weekly local client visits

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced recruiter who enjoys a fast-paced, varied role, builds strong client relationships and knows how to turn great service into account growth?

We’re looking for a Recruitment Delivery & Account Development Consultant to join our TLP Recruitment team in Totton and play an important part in the continued growth of our Southampton operation.

Our operation is busy and thriving, with strong relationships across the local logistics market and plenty of opportunity to build on that further.

You’ll work closely with our Regional Business Manager and wider team, building relationships with existing clients as well as helping to onboard new accounts and establish a strong service from the outset.

A key part of the role will be getting out to see local clients each week – understanding their operations, reviewing service levels, staying ahead of future staffing requirements and taking a consultative approach to how we can support them further.

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, adaptable and naturally flexible, enjoys variety and is happy to support the wider operation when needed.

You’ll be comfortable taking ownership, thinking on your feet and keeping great service at the heart of what you do.

Our Southampton operation predominantly supports businesses across logistics, transport and warehousing, but previous logistics recruitment experience is not required.

What matters is that you know recruitment, enjoy working with people and have the initiative to make things happen.

  • What You’ll Be Doing
  • Visiting local client sites each week to review service and strengthen relationships.
  • Taking temporary staffing briefs and understanding exact client requirements.
  • Working closely with our resourcing team to fill temporary bookings from the candidate pool.
  • Liaising with candidates and temporary workers around availability, bookings and assignments.
  • Acting quickly when requirements change or delivery gaps arise.
  • Identifying opportunities to develop existing accounts and spot wider business leads.
  • Keeping close to candidate availability, pay rates and local market conditions.

About You

Previous recruitment experience is important, although it doesn’t need to have been within logistics.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Builds strong, long-term client relationships.
  • Is commercially minded and able to spot opportunities for further account growth.
  • Is organised, practical and solutions-focused.
  • Works well as part of a team but is equally comfortable working independently.
  • Is confident dealing with clients, candidates and temporary workers.
  • Holds a current UK driving licence and is happy to visit local clients each week.
  • The Good Stuff
  • Salary & Commission: c£30,000–£35,000 depending on experience, plus monthly commission.
  • Work-Life Balance: We have a dedicated out-of-hours team providing evening and weekend operational support, so you’re not routinely expected to cover out-of-hours requirements.
  • Employee Ownership: An independent, employee-owned business where your contribution makes a genuine difference.
  • Progression: Structured training and career development, with genuine scope to progress into a management role as the Southampton operation develops within our wider regional structure.
  • Rewards & Impact: A varied reward scheme and the opportunity to make a visible contribution to the continued growth of Southampton.

If you’re an experienced recruiter who enjoys great client relationships, strong delivery and developing accounts, we’d love to hear from you.
