We are currently looking to recruit two experienced European Freight Forwarders to join a growing operations team with a Freight Forwarders with neat 40 years under their belts. These opportunities would suit candidates with varying levels of experience within European road freight, from developing operators looking for the next step in their career through to highly experienced professionals with strong import knowledge across key European markets. The successful candidates will play a key role in coordinating European freight movements, building strong relationships with customers and suppliers, and ensuring shipments are managed efficiently from start to finish.
We are particularly interested in candidates with knowledge of:
- Germany, Belgium and Netherlands import operations
- France, Italy and Spain freight forwarding
- Wider European groupage or full load operations
However, strong European freight forwarding experience from other regions will also be considered, as the skills are highly transferable.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing European road freight shipments from booking through to delivery
- Coordinating import and export movements across Europe
- Liaising with customers, hauliers, overseas agents, and internal departments
- Arranging groupage, part-load and full-load movements
- Monitoring shipment progress and resolving operational issues proactively
- Ensuring all customs and shipping documentation is completed accurately
- Providing excellent customer service and regular shipment updates
- Negotiating rates and building strong supplier relationships
- Working within agreed KPIs and service levels
What We’re Looking For
We are open to speaking with candidates at different stages of their freight forwarding career, including:
- Experienced Freight Forwarders
- 3–5 years minimum experience within European freight forwarding
- Strong import operations knowledge, ideally within Germany, Belgium and Netherlands markets
- Excellent understanding of European road freight operations
- Ability to manage shipments independently from start to finish
- Commercial awareness and strong customer management skills
- Developing Freight Forwarders
- 1–2 years’ experience within freight forwarding or European logistics
- Exposure to European markets including France, Italy or Spain would be advantageous
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
