Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a European Freight Forwarder to join their busy operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2–3 years of freight forwarding or European road transport experience who is looking to develop their career within a well-established and growing logistics business. This is a small but busy team so someone who’d be happy to muck in when needed is essential.
The Role
As a European Freight Forwarder, you will be responsible for coordinating the movement of freight across Europe, ensuring shipments are planned, tracked, and delivered efficiently while providing exceptional service to customers. You'll work closely with customers, hauliers, drivers, and overseas partners to manage shipments from booking through to final delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate European road freight shipments from collection through to delivery.
- Plan and manage trailer movements across the UK and Europe.
- Liaise with customers, subcontractors, drivers, and overseas agents.
- Monitor shipment progress and provide regular customer updates.
- Ensure all transport documentation is accurate and compliant.
- Resolve operational issues and proactively manage delays.
- Build strong relationships with customers and transport partners.
- Maintain accurate records within the transport management system.
- Support customs and border processes where required.
- Work closely with the wider operations team to ensure service excellence.
About You
- 2–3 years' experience within freight forwarding, European road freight, or transport operations.
- Good understanding of European groupage, full-load, or trailer operations.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
- Customer-focused with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Good IT skills and experience using transport management systems.
- Knowledge of customs procedures would be advantageous.
