Overview
Established in 1965, the Lockwood Group is a family run business with over 350 employees across 7 UK sites. The group's activities include UK haulage and storage, frozen food production and co-packing solutions. S&R Smith and Son, West Thurrock (part of the Lockwood Group of Companies) specialise in general haulage & distribution in and around the South East of England. New business developments on the horizon are allowing us to recruit experienced HGV drivers. We are looking for drivers to be based from S&R Smith and Son, RM20 4EL.
Responsibilities
- To maintain excellent levels of customer service
- To ensure accurate and timely communication with the Transport team
- To deliver goods in a timely and professional manner
- Foster a friendly and supportive work environment
Qualifications
- Fully qualified HGV Class 1 (C+E) driver with a CPC and valid Digi card
- Good understanding of Tachograph and WTD rules
- Reliable and punctual with a flexible approach
- Good verbal communication and professional customer service skills
- Previous Class 1 experience is preferred but not essential
