Due to our continued growth and client demand, we have the opportunity for a self-motivated individual for the position of Principal Geo-environmental Consultant working as part of our Ground Investigation team. The role will include tendering, designing and project management of complex ground investigations along with managing the finances for each project. This will include producing and final sign-off on detailed reports and remediation strategies. The role requires direct contact with clients and regulators and involvement in varied and challenging projects within this growing division of our multidisciplinary consultancy. The role will include some business development and networking to help develop new opportunities and maintain existing clients.
You will play your part in the wider team, by supporting our client-side project management consultancy and land remediation contracting sections. We have a clear vision and plan for growth, and like-minded individuals will have the opportunity to help grow our business and share in the success this brings.
Responsibilities:- Project Management of jobs including complex site investigations and validation sites. Includes the production of quotes and tenders, site investigation design and budgeting.
- Technical report writing to a high specification, including soil, gas and groundwater risk assessments, remediation strategies and other detailed risk assessments.
- Reviewing and signing off Phase 1 desk studies, Phase 2 site investigations, Remediation Strategies, Site Completion Report and other detailed risk assessment reports.
- Client and regulatory liaison.
- Business development, including building of own client list and retention of existing clients, attending networking events.
- Training and mentoring of junior staff.
- Degree in a relevant field such as geology, geography, environmental science, geophysics, or geochemistry. An additional higher degree may also be an advantage.
- Commercial awareness of industry.
- High motivation for this specific opportunity.
- Self-motivated team player with exceptional people skills.
- Ability to work under own initiative while fully co‑ordinating with line manager’s requirements.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Full UK driving licence.
