What Will You Be Doing
Reporting to the Sales Director for Orthopaedics, you will coach an effective first line sales team, emphasising Challenger and business acquisition capabilities. The role covers London and the wider South East Region (it’s important you live within this area). You will develop your team's proficiency in the procedures, pathology, and products of our Orthopaedics (recon) surgical area as well as developing their capabilities to drive business across multiple clinical and economic partners.
Handling regional resources in CAPEX investment, Medical Education and Samples / Demo spend, you will hold accountability for profitability targets and objective setting and ensuring it’s aligned to business strategy including reporting on monthly sales director updates. Meet sales and profit targets on portfolio products across a specified region. Actively lead and deliver principal commercial deals and high value pipeline business, through strong analysis, account strategy development and profitable commercial deal development. Successfully handle Capital Investment Resources (systems, sets etc) in region to ensure company assets deliver maximum returns. Build and support an industry leading team with capabilities to sell at all appropriate levels by utilising leading sales practices. Upskill your team through coaching, mentoring and development. Product, procedure and pathology knowledge as well as selling and negotiation skills (such as Challenger Selling and other approaches). An in-depth knowledge of all local contracts and tenders, working closely with the Commercial Team, to ensure profitable deals and business share growth. Develop strong customer relationships and network with key partners (both clinical / key opinion leaders and economic) that will be used to develop local and national opportunities.

Success in the role will be determined by revenue and an improved service provision and efficiency in our business interactions with our customers! It’s the ability to take strategic responsibility for your area, working with your team and with customers to deliver for our patients. In turn, we expect such strategic relationships to maximise sales revenue across the geography this will likely impact on existing and new accounts to proactively drive growth.
Successful Candidates Will Need The Following
- Experience in medical device sales - ideally within orthopaedic but products sold in the theatre environment would be considered.
- Significant (2+ years) experience managing a team of sales representatives in the medical device industry.
- Discernment towards business plans and sales performance to build success across the region.
