Overview
We’re looking for a Lead Radiology Department Assistant to join our team at The Lister Hospital, currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with patients courteously about the preparation of their examination, what the examination entails, potential timing, and any delays to the procedure.
- Ensure all patients are correctly informed and prepared for their examination and be available to chaperone patients during their examination.
- Be present at the end of each examination to escort the patient, assist with changing rooms, and support the next stage of their examination.
- Liaise with wards and radiologists for timings of inpatients scheduled on the modality list.
- Notify radiologist/imaging staff of any additional patients added to the list.
- Prepare and assist with ultrasound-guided injections when required.
- Document all patients in the Modality Day Books including IRs & Self Pay; ensure patient charges are recorded correctly.
- Assist with departmental audits and rotate between main site and satellite sites as required.
- Follow all instructions from the radiologist, adapting to changes in the plan due to patient condition.
What You’ll Bring

- Radiology/Imaging experience desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures

- Previous experience in a similar/same role desirable
