As an apprentice Commis Chef you will take your first steps to becoming a vital part of our high-performing brigade. Spending your days preparing delicious food in a well-equipped kitchen, developing your skills under the guidance of our talented Head Chef all whilst completing your Level 2 apprenticeship. Over the past few years, we have supported many of our team members to becoming a fully qualified commis chef and you could be next! Who are we looking for?
If you are looking to learn how to cook from scratch, using fresh ingredients, we offer training academies with nationally recognised qualifications to springboard you into a career. If you are a team player and you are committed to achieving the very best, this could be the role for you. We are looking for someone with a passion for food and the drive to develop. It's a great opportunity for someone with a natural drive for excellence who is seeking the first step in their career. You will have an eye for detail and be able to multitask.
Your day to day as an Apprentice Commis Chef:
- Controlling the order and storage of food supplies
- Involved in the preparation and presentation of food for service
- Adhering to food safety standards
- Assist the kitchen team when necessary to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Continue your journey of development/apprenticeship by picking up new skills all the time and putting those into practice.
Your Training:
During your first 12-15 months, we will support you while you complete your Level 2 Commis Chef qualification. This will be delivered via kitchen masterclasses and development workshops, and not only will you receive the training and skills as part of your apprenticeship, but we will also enhance and boost your experience by providing opportunities and additional masterclasses throughout the year, where you will visit our suppliers, enjoy interactive workshops, gain cross exposure, and meet fellow Chef Apprentices within Daniel Thwaites.
