Job Description
We are looking for a Team Leader, reporting to the Clinical Manager, to provide proactive and efficient day-to-day line management and support to a team of volunteer counsellors at our Lydney Centre.
You will foster a supportive relationship with counsellors in your team, conduct Annual Reviews and be involved in recruitment, selection and induction of new counsellors to add to our growing team. You will be jointly responsible for overseeing the client waiting list and allocation of clients to ensure that our clients receive a timely and professional service.
You will need to hold a counselling qualification and have excellent communication and organisational skills. This opportunity is open to internal applicants only.

Job Specification
The Team Leader has responsibility for the line management of a team of Listening Post volunteer counsellors under the direction of the Clinical Management Team. The role encompasses:
- Day to day line management of a team of volunteer counsellors.
- Facilitating community and cohesion in the centre.
- Annual Review meetings with counsellors.
- Monitoring of client waiting lists and allocation of clients.
- The recruitment, selection and induction of counsellors.
- Communication β day to day line management, βdrop inβ sessions and quarterly update meetings with counsellors.
- Occasional client assessments.
- Diploma/Degree in Therapeutic Counselling or Psychotherapy
- Minimum of 2-year post qualification supervised counselling experience
- Experience of counselling remotely via telephone and video link
- Experience of Line Managing individuals or a team
- Ability to assess wide range of client presentations and determine skill levels needed in allocation
- Be a member of BACP, UKCP or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
- IT skills β proficient in the use of Microsoft packages and Office 365
- Desire to consult and interact well with Listening Post staff and volunteers
- Motivated to develop the organisation to operate to its full potential
- Ability to motivate, enthuse and work co-operatively with team members
- Willingness to work flexibly when required
- Dedication to furthering welfare of Listening Post
- Drive and efficiency
- Ability to work co-operatively with all staff and volunteers
- Hold a current driving licence and have access to transport
- Willingness to work flexibly when required
- A full induction is provided.
