Our client is a leading provider of bespoke facade solutions, delivering innovative, sustainable, and high-quality architectural envelopes for commercial and residential projects across the UK. With a reputation for technical expertise and a commitment to excellence, they work closely with architects, contractors, and developers to bring complex designs to life.

Purpose of the Role: This role is responsible for the preparation and issuing of tender quotations and bills, supporting the pre-construction process through accurate pricing, risk management, and technical validation.

Key Objectives:

  • Achieve quarterly sales targets (currently £10m).
  • Meet key performance indicators as set by the line manager.
  • Increase efficiency and tender output to maintain a strong tender bank.
  • Maximise commercial viability through value engineering and negotiation.
  • Identify and mitigate risk across secured and potential projects.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyse specification documents and architectural/engineering drawings.
  • Manage and prioritise personal workload effectively.
  • Attend internal meetings and liaise with other departments as necessary.
  • Source and assess costs for raw materials and subcontractor items.
  • Analyse supplier quotations and compile data for adjudication.
  • Work with the Head of Pre-Contracts to prepare adjudication documents.
  • Handle communications with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare bills and formal quotations using standard documentation.
  • Attend client meetings alongside the commercial team.
  • Coordinate the procurement of samples as required.
  • Obtain U-value and thermal safety calculations to validate specifications.
  • Amend quotations and bills as per updated client or bid team instructions.
  • Prepare handover documents and compliance data once contracts are secured.
  • Participate in and lead handover meetings with the project team.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Attend quarterly sales meetings.
  • Support other departments in operational matters.
  • Promote and embody the company’s culture and values.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to all KPIs and company policies, including health & safety and sustainability.
  • Mentor and support trainees and team members as needed.

Training & Development:

  • Stay informed on new systems/products for improved efficiency.
  • Attend relevant internal and external training courses.
  • Engage in ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Help identify training needs within the department.

Knowledge & Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 years' estimating experience in the external façade industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of glass, windows, doors, and aluminium curtain walling.
  • Experience with project planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High initiative, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
  • Professional, approachable, and collaborative team player.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

IT Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
  • Experience with Schucal or Reynaers software.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam.
  • Basic AutoCAD skills.
