A leading UK contractor is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a long-term, high-value infrastructure programme in the North West. This role offers a secure and rewarding opportunity to be part of a major multi-year project within a regulated sector.

About the role

You’ll be responsible for the commercial and contractual management of a specialist construction package, involving full design and delivery responsibilities. The role includes subcontractor management, cost control, and contract administration within a highly structured and compliance-driven environment.

Reporting to the Commercial Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring financial performance, project accountability, and risk mitigation across your assigned packages.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage commercial and contractual aspects of a specialist construction package, including full design and delivery responsibilities
  • Subcontractor management, cost control, and contract administration in a compliance-driven environment
  • Support financial performance, project accountability, and risk mitigation across assigned packages
  • Onsite involvement: 4 days per week in Barrow-in-Furness
  • Work within a multi-year, regulated infrastructure programme
  • Collaborate with a dynamic, collaborative commercial team to shape delivery processes
  • Operate in a complex stakeholder and process environment

Qualifications and requirements

  • Security clearance required
  • Solid experience working for main/principal contractors
  • Strong track record in managing subcontractor packages
  • Able to work in a compliance-heavy, process-driven environment
  • Familiar with NEC3 / EC3 or similar forms of contracting
  • Resilient, commercially astute, and comfortable with high-pressure delivery
