We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer with an electrical bias to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will identify, prepare, schedule, coordinate and deliver assigned technical and engineering projects on time, in full and on budget.
This position requires a strong foundation in engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Identify, prepare, schedule, coordinate and deliver assigned technical and engineering projects on time, in full and on budget.
- Ensure effective health and safety management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Implement and drive project governance to ensure effective management of key stakeholders, project budget, key resources, achievement of project deliverables from concept to handover.
- Ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are understood and met from concept to handover.
- Expert manager of external contractors ensuring contractor management processes are always adhered to.
- Excellent analytical and judgement skills with the ability to develop budgets and track expenditures in all cost areas of projects.
- Strong initiative with the ability to set and meet stretching deadlines and targets.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to conduct feasibility studies and spot opportunities for return seeking projects.
- Implements and delivers project administrative products including but not limited to; project charter, budget tracker, scope of works, GANTT chart, issue log, commissioning schedules etc.
- Strong risk manager with the ability to spot project risks earlier and mitigate.
- To provide ad hoc cover for Maintenance Manager.

- Ensure that all equipment meets or exceeds legislative and statutory compliance

Essential Knowledge & Skills:
- Electrically qualified – essential.
- EHS management competency & control of contractor’s competency.
- Scope/Requirements analysis.
- Design skills.
- Project management.
- Process improvement.
- Technical understanding
- Engineering Degree (2:1+ from an accredited institution)
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) with a relevant professional institution e.g., IET, IMechE.
- EHS related certification – IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH etc.
- Project Management certification e.g., Prince 2, APMP etc.
- 5+ years delivering multiple capex initiatives with a minimum value of £1m.
