Junior Estimator - Roofing

Our client is a well-established roofing and cladding contractor with a strong reputation in the industry. With a turnover of £10 million and a robust pipeline of projects— they are experiencing continued growth and are seeking a motivated Junior Roofing Estimator to join their team.

Role Overview:

As a Junior Roofing Estimator, you will play a key role in assisting with the preparation of accurate cost estimates for roofing and cladding projects. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for roofing and cladding projects.
• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and tender documents.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Support the Estimating Manager in bid submissions and project proposals.
• Use estimating software (EValuate experience beneficial but not essential) to compile cost breakdowns.
• Conduct site visits where required to assess project scope.
• Collaborate with the project team to ensure cost-effective solutions.

Requirements:

• A couple of years’ experience in estimating, ideally within roofing and cladding.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with EValuate estimating software is a plus but not essential.
• A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude.
