Our online interactive learning platform, The Lightup Hub, helps students enhance their confidence and grades through a variety of resources including videos, condensed notes, quizzes, personalised revision plans, and other interactive features. What you will do: As a Senior Examiner, you'll be a core member of our Board, working alongside other Senior Examiners. You'll mark student essays, help calibrate our AI marking system, and ensure the feedback students receive is accurate. Your expertise becomes the benchmark that helps thousands of students improve.
- Mark sample essays to help select Grade 1-9 exemplars
- Participate in standardisation sessions to align on marking standards
- Mark batches of essays to calibrate and validate AI accuracy
- Flag where AI is scoring off and explain why
- Provide second opinions on borderline cases
- Monthly spot-checks once launched to maintain AI accuracy
What we are looking for:
- Current or recent examining (within the last 2-3 years) experience with AQA and / or Edexcel exam board.
- GCSE marking experience or with English Language / English Literature (or both)
- Strong understanding of mark schemes and consistent application
- Ability to articulate your marking rationale
- Team Leader experience a plus, but not required
- Available to start immediately
