Role Description:
As Lead Examiner, you’ll be the senior authority on marking standards at Lightup Hub. This is a chance to shape how AI is used in education – and to help thousands of students get the feedback they need to improve.
Responsibilities:
- Create Grade 1–9 exemplar responses with full annotations explaining how marks are allocated.
- Write "what the AI should look for" documentation – key skills, red flags, scoring boundaries.
- Lead standardisation sessions to align the examining team.
- Mark sample essays to calibrate and validate AI accuracy.
- Review AI output and flag where it’s scoring off (and why).
- Sign off on AI marking accuracy before launch.
- Fully remote – work flexibly around your schedule.
- Ongoing work: after intensive Jan setup, shifts to 4–6 hrs/month.
