We are The Light, a unique immersive experience in the UK, offering cinema, bowling, karaoke, darts, mini golf, climbing walls, bars and kitchens. We are currently looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager to join our management team.

As a Kitchen Manager you will lead the kitchen team to prepare, cook, and present our dishes with pride and passion, rising to the challenge of a busy service and ensuring food standards are met and maintained at all times.

About You

  • Experienced in leading a kitchen team in a fast‑paced, quick‑service environment.
  • A passion for food and a commitment to high standards in food presentation.
  • Proven ability to develop, coach, and train kitchen teams.
  • An organized manager with keen attention to detail, ensuring adherence to health and safety, food hygiene, and compliance procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all departments.
  • Advanced knowledge of stock control, with the ability to analyse stock results and make informed recommendations.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including an understanding of finance, purchasing, and menu costing.

How we will keep you busy

  • Manage daily kitchen operation – from food preparation to final plate presentation.
  • Lead the training of new starters in the kitchen as well as assist with ongoing training for the venue.
  • Oversee inventory, minimise wastage, maintain food cost targets without compromising on quality.
  • Ensure compliance with H&S regulations and high standards of cleanliness.
  • Attend weekly manager’s meetings and provide an update on all topics relevant to kitchen operations.
  • Be responsible for a smooth and effective kitchen service and ensure all necessary work is completed prior to the commencement of service.
  • Work closely with front of house team to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
