Kennington School, based near Waterlooville, Hampshire, is a new SEN school for children on the autism spectrum, opening September 2026. The successful candidates will be qualified to degree level and have a teaching qualification. Experience of teaching and supporting students with special educational needs, particularly those who have a diagnosis of autism, is also necessary.

Class sizes are typically no larger than eight students and each class has a dedicated Learning Support Assistant. The role demands the application of specialised teaching approaches, systematic planning and record keeping, and the management and deployment of support staff as well as good ICT skills.

The Teacher will be a Tutor for a form group and support them with pastoral, parent contact and report writing duties including attending EHCP reviews. This is a permanent full-time term time role, 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday 08:30 to 16:30 with a half hour unpaid break each day.

Interviews will be held on an ongoing basis. Closing date: 30th May 2026.
