The Levels School is an independent specialist day school offering high-quality education and exemplary pastoral care to students with speech, language and communication difficulties and co-occurring difficulties. An opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist with a passion to support our students. You will be committed to making a positive difference to young people’s lives. As an Occupational Therapist at The Levels School, you will be working under the direction of the Head of Therapy, and alongside other Speech and Language and Occupational Therapists, the SENCo and classroom teachers in delivering social skills sessions, and direct and indirect therapy. The Levels Therapy services aim to provide therapy services across a wide range of therapy disciplines within both an educational and private setting. It is widely acknowledged that SEN support is a growing national requirement for students to achieve their full potential. The Levels Therapy has been established to extend our offering beyond our own students at The Levels School. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be part of the team completing outreach work in local Independent schools and FE colleges.

The role of Occupational Therapist is offered on a full-time, permanent basis. Part Time and Term Time Only hours will be considered for the right candidate. We are seeking an innovative Occupational Therapist(s) to join our existing dynamic Therapy Team consisting of 4 other Occupational Therapists and 4 Speech and Language Therapists. The successful candidate(s) will need to be motivated and enthusiastic. You will be joining a committed and dedicated team that has high expectations for students and work hard to ensure they achieve their maximum outcomes. You will be an integral member of The Levels School and The Levels Therapy teams.

You will need to be a qualified Occupational Therapist ideally with experience of SEND. We are looking to appoint a flexible, adaptable, and dedicated individual with experience in working with pupils with SpLD and some SEMH difficulties as a result of their barriers to learning.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Delivering the weekly therapy sessions for children on your caseload
  • Running social skills groups
  • Attending annual reviews
  • Carrying out assessments
  • Writing reports

Key skills and requirements:

  • To be a registered Occupational Therapist with the RCOT and HCPC
  • Experience or knowledge of dyslexia and co-occurring difficulties and autistic spectrum condition
  • Have the ability to work as an integral member of a team that puts the pupils' learning and wellbeing at the centre.
