Based in Peterborough, we operate in a rapidly growing property services sector, specialising in referencing, insurance, tenancy compliance, credit control, and commissions. We pride ourselves on operational efficiency and innovative reporting in a fast-paced, tech-enabled environment.
Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer this is a fantastic role with high visibility and transparency to the group’s strategic direction. We are seeking a proactive and driven Management Accountant to partner with finance, operations, and admin teams to ensure smooth month-end closes, accurate invoicing, commission processing, reconciliations, and consistent process improvement. You’ll use your financial acumen, attention to detail, and technical skills (Advanced Excel + VBA ideally) to keep everything running accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting & Analytics
- Produce timesheet and productivity metrics for operations and phone teams.
- Generate and distribute reports for work-in-progress.
- Run bespoke and recurring reports for internal stakeholders and external clients.
Integration & Process Support
- Oversee new product integration from a finance perspective.
- Conduct regular pre-month-end checks to align management information with finance.
- Continuously improve and automate monthly and quarterly financial processes.
Credit Control
- Support credit control team members with questions and tasks.
- Monitor and manage AUDDIS for cancelled/amended Direct Debits; update bank details across CRM platforms.
- Reconcile intercompany, restricted funds, client money, commission payable, and balance sheet drawings.
Invoicing & Commission Management
- Prepare and send invoices for a multitude of products.
- Calculate and process monthly and quarterly commissions payable to agents (Tenants Home Insurance, Landlord Insurance, Rent and Legal Protection, Professional Guarantor, Utilities, Broadband) – including statement distribution, email chasing, accruals, payments.
System & Ad-hoc Administration
- Maintain accounts platform agent data.
- Manage FTP systems for API data transfers.
- Provide VBA troubleshooting and technical support to teams (Mailchimp leads, cancellation emails, etc.).
- Field ad hoc requests from Client Relationship Managers, customer teams, and operations.
Regulatory & Compliance
- VAT reconciliation and group submission.
- Quarterly rent-affordability index review (subject to business need).
Desired Experience & Skills
- AAT qualified, Part of Full Qualified (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
- Advanced Excel skills (ideally including VBA)
- Comfortable with financial reporting, reconciliations & journals
- Experience handling direct debits, invoicing, and commission structures
