Role Summary

The HR Director position will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the people strategy for The Letting Partnership, ensuring alignment with Moatable’s global HR framework while meeting the needs of the UK business. This is a senior, strategic position that blends hands-on HR leadership with high-level partnership across global and local teams. The postholder will act as the UK’s lead HR expert, driving initiatives that strengthen engagement, performance, and culture, while ensuring compliance with UK employment law and alignment with Moatable’s global standards.

Working closely with the US-based VP of HR and the UK senior leadership team, this role will provide strategic and operational HR leadership across the full employee lifecycle. From leading organisational change and embedding company values, to overseeing recruitment, performance management, compensation, and employee relations, the HR Director will be instrumental in building a thriving, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Leadership
    • Lead the design and delivery of the UK HR strategy in alignment with Moatable’s global HR framework and The Letting Partnership’s business objectives.
    • Act as a strategic advisor to the senior leadership team, shaping people priorities that enhance performance, culture, and long-term growth.
    • Partner closely with the US-based VP of HR to ensure UK practices align with global standards while meeting local legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Employee Relations & Engagement
    • Serve as the senior HR contact for UK managers and employees, providing expert guidance on performance management, employee relations, and complex casework.
    • Lead initiatives that promote engagement, wellbeing, and inclusion, ensuring that people feel valued and connected to the company’s purpose.
    • Ensure employee relations matters are handled fairly, consistently, and in full compliance with UK employment law.
  • Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
    • Work collaboratively with UK leaders and global Talent Acquisition to define resourcing needs and oversee end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes.
    • Support workforce planning and succession initiatives to build strong internal talent pipelines and ensure organisational readiness for growth.
    • Monitor workforce trends and use data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making and future capability planning.
  • Compensation, Benefits & Compliance
    • Oversee compensation and benefits frameworks to ensure external competitiveness and internal equity.
    • Maintain compliant and up-to-date HR policies, procedures, and practices in line with UK employment legislation.
    • Advise senior leaders on market pay trends, benefits design, and reward strategies to attract and retain key talent.
  • Performance & Development
    • Implement and embed performance management frameworks consistent with Moatable’s global approach.
    • Drive learning and development initiatives that strengthen leadership capability and support continuous professional growth.
    • Foster a culture of accountability and high performance through regular feedback, coaching, and recognition.
  • HR Operations & Reporting
    • Lead day-to-day HR operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across the employee lifecycle, HRIS management, and payroll coordination.
    • Produce, analyse, and present HR metrics and insights to local and global leadership teams to support evidence-based decision-making.
    • Continuously review and improve HR systems, tools, and processes to enhance service delivery and employee experience.
  • Change Management & Culture Building
    • Provide HR leadership and support for organisational change initiatives, ensuring communication is transparent and transitions are well-managed.
    • Act as a culture ambassador, embedding Moatable’s core values and The Letting Partnership’s identity across the UK team.
    • Lead initiatives that strengthen inclusion, collaboration, and engagement across all levels of the organisation.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3–5 years at Director or equivalent level within the UK.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK employment legislation, employee relations, and HR best practice.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver HR strategy while managing operational priorities.
  • Experience working within an international organisation, ideally reporting into US-based or global HR leadership.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of partnering with senior leaders to align HR with business objectives.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, influencing, and written communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong working knowledge of HRIS systems, compensation tools, and performance management frameworks.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field (CIPD Level 7 or Master’s qualification preferred) or related experience.

  • Experience supporting business transformation or organisational change programmes.
  • Exposure to the technology, financial services, or professional services sectors.
  • Evidence of developing or scaling HR functions in a high-growth or complex environment.
  • Coaching or leadership development qualification.
  • Data-driven approach with experience using HR analytics to inform decisions.
