About The Less Group

The Less Group is a UK-wide property services provider delivering specialist cleaning, restoration, waste management and hazardous waste removal solutions to commercial and residential customers.

Operating through four dedicated divisions β€” Spotless, Floorless, Traceless and Wasteless β€” we provide a comprehensive range of services through one trusted partner, combining specialist expertise with a consistent standard of service.

Our customers include facilities management companies, commercial property owners, property managers, industrial businesses, landlords, managing agents and public sector organisations.

As we continue to expand our national presence, we are looking for an ambitious, commercially driven National Sales Manager to lead business development, secure major contracts and drive sustainable revenue growth across the Group.

The Role

The National Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the Group's national sales strategy, identifying new market opportunities and building long-term relationships with key customers and strategic partners.

This is a hands-on, commercially focused role suited to an experienced sales professional who can open doors, win new business, develop major accounts and convert opportunities into profitable contracts across multiple service lines.

The successful candidate will play a key role in positioning The Less Group as a preferred national provider of specialist property services, maximising cross-selling opportunities across all four divisions and establishing a strong pipeline of recurring commercial revenue.

Key Responsibilities

1. National Sales Strategy & Growth

  • Develop and implement a national sales strategy aligned with the Group's growth objectives.
  • Identify target sectors, key accounts and geographic opportunities for expansion.
  • Establish clear sales targets, revenue forecasts and performance indicators.
  • Develop a robust pipeline of new business opportunities across all four divisions.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging customer requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing services into new regions and markets.

2. New Business Development

  • Proactively identify, approach and secure new commercial customers.
  • Develop relationships with facilities management providers, property management companies, commercial landlords, industrial organisations and public sector bodies.
  • Identify and pursue national and multi-site service contracts.
  • Build relationships with procurement teams, contract managers, estates directors and other key decision-makers.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle, from prospecting and initial engagement through to tender submission, negotiation and contract award.
  • Represent The Less Group at industry events, networking opportunities and client meetings.

3. Major Contracts & Tender Management

  • Identify and pursue high-value commercial contracts and national framework opportunities.
  • Lead or coordinate tender submissions, proposals, presentations and commercial negotiations.
  • Work with operational teams to develop competitive, deliverable and profitable service proposals.
  • Ensure pricing, scope of work and contractual terms reflect the Group's commercial objectives.
  • Build a strong understanding of customer procurement processes and contract renewal cycles.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and report on potential contract wins.

4. Account Management & Customer Retention

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key national and regional customers.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue through additional services and cross-selling.
  • Develop account plans for major customers and strategic partners.
  • Work with operational teams to ensure service delivery meets customer expectations.
  • Support contract retention, renewals and the development of long-term partnerships.
  • Identify opportunities to increase customer value and profitability.

5. Cross-Divisional Sales Development

  • Promote the full range of The Less Group's services through a coordinated, single-provider approach.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce multiple divisions to existing and prospective customers.
  • Develop integrated service proposals covering cleaning, restoration, waste management and specialist removal services.
  • Work closely with divisional managers to align sales opportunities with operational capacity and technical expertise.
  • Ensure customers understand the benefits of using one group for multiple property service requirements.

6. Sales Reporting & Performance Management

  • Maintain an accurate CRM system, sales pipeline and customer database.
  • Produce regular reports covering pipeline value, sales activity, conversion rates, revenue and forecast performance.
  • Track performance against agreed sales targets and budgets.
  • Provide management with market intelligence, sales forecasts and growth recommendations.
  • Develop a structured approach to lead generation, prospect management and sales follow-up.

7. Leadership & Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Managing Director, divisional managers and operational teams to deliver Group-wide growth.
  • Establish consistent sales processes, standards and reporting across the business.
  • Support the development of sales resources and future sales team members as the Group grows.
  • Promote a professional, customer-focused and commercially accountable sales culture.
  • Ensure all sales activities reflect the Group's quality, health and safety and compliance commitments.

Specific targets will be agreed with the successful candidate and aligned with the Group's business plan.
