As a qualified Childcare Assistant, you will be responsible for creating a safe, welcoming and engaging setting for our youngest members. This includes supervising play, supporting children’s wellbeing, maintaining high standards of care, and ensuring all safeguarding and health & safety procedures are followed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe environment is provided for all Crèche users, offering appropriate social, creative, and fun activities.
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks such as registers and equipment checks.
  • Follow all Crèche policies, safeguarding procedures, and behaviour management guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality in line with safeguarding and Data Protection regulations.
  • Report any welfare concerns to the Junior Activities Coordinator or the designated Child Welfare Officer.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and club policies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free environment.
  • Be fully trained and prepared for emergency and evacuation procedures.
  • Deliver excellent customer service in line with Lensbury standards.
  • Communicate professionally and warmly with parents, guardians, and colleagues.
  • Carry out additional duties as required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum Level 2 Childcare qualification required (Level 3 desirable)
  • Previous experience in a similar environment
  • A genuine passion for creating great experiences for children and their families
  • A friendly, calm and approachable nature, with the ability to act quickly and effectively
  • Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to complete)
  • Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete)
