Overview
The Lensbury, Broom Rd, Teddington, Middlesex, TW11 9NU. Sales Manager – MICE, Elite Sports & Corporate. The Lensbury Resort is located on the banks of the River Thames at Teddington and is home to an exclusive leisure club, a 155 bedroom hotel, meeting and events space, restaurant and bar, Spa and 25 acres of gardens and grounds.
The Role
The Sales Manager (MICE, Elite Sports and Corporate) will develop, lead and execute the local sales plan in order to drive new business across these key segments. Managing key local relationships and accounts and identifying new business opportunities alongside the Commercial Director and Central Sales teams in order to maximise on new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Commercial Director and Head Office team to support the creation and development of The Lensbury’s business development and sales strategy for key segments – MICE, Elite Sports, and Corporate.
- Lead the execution of all local sales activities, including managing key client and agency relationships and driving business development efforts.
- Proactively seek new business opportunities to drive growth in the MICE and Elite Sports segments.
- Collaborate with the M&E Sales Manager and Diary Manager to ensure proposals are tailored to client requirements.
- Effectively manage and grow a database of corporate bookers, travel managers, event agencies, and specialist sports agents.
- Maintain awareness of key sporting fixtures and events that may impact booking trends and demand for elite sports services, proactively targeting key bookers and accounts.
- Use CRM systems to maintain regular contact with target bookers, travel managers, and agencies to ensure top-of-mind awareness.
- Attend and represent The Lensbury Resort at industry events, exhibitions, and agency gatherings that support MICE and Elite Sports sales plans.
- Arrange and host regular FAM trips, conduct site inspections, and deliver virtual tours.
- Maintain and maximise visibility and opportunities through MICE and sports-related online listings and platforms, including Venue Directory, CVENT, and others.
- Lead the development, negotiation, contracting, and renewal of all local corporate bedroom agreements.
- Conduct regular account management reviews with key bedroom clients to ensure contracted production is met or exceeded.
- Analyse and manage the entire sales pipeline for each market segment, including rooms, meetings and events, membership, and elite sports.
- Conduct ongoing sales research, market analysis, and competitor benchmarking.
What We’re Looking For
- Excellent communicator and public speaker
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar sales/business development role ideally within the hotel/hospitality/leisure industry
- A demonstrable network of corporate event bookers/event agency contacts
- A passion for sports is highly desirable
- A good knowledge of the local market (SW London/Home Counties) highly desirable
- Excellent understanding of CRM management
- Team player
- Excellent time management skills with a natural ability to prioritise and manage workload
- Ability to manage, analyse and present data effectively in order to make informed decisions on sales activity with a proven track record of demonstrating effectiveness of activities
