Leith Hill Practice is looking for a friendly, compassionate and motivated Phlebotomist to join our supportive clinical team for 25 hours per week. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with patients and takes pride in delivering a professional, efficient and caring service. You'll play an important role in supporting the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of our patients while working alongside experienced GPs, Nurses and Healthcare Assistants in a welcoming General Practice environment.
Main duties of the job
- You will provide a high-quality phlebotomy service for patients, undertaking venepuncture safely and confidently while maintaining excellent patient care.
- You will also support basic health monitoring, prepare samples for collection, maintain clinical equipment and stock levels, and ensure accurate patient records are maintained.
- Working collaboratively with the wider practice team, you'll help ensure clinics run smoothly and patients receive an excellent experience.

Job responsibilities
- Perform venepuncture safely and efficiently for patients of all ages.
- Collect, label and prepare blood samples for transportation in accordance with Practice and laboratory protocols.
- Ensure accurate patient identification and maintain clear clinical records using the Practice clinical system.
- Prepare and maintain clinical rooms, ensuring equipment and consumables are available for clinics.
- Monitor and replenish phlebotomy stock and clinical consumables as required.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control procedures and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Participate in mandatory training and maintain professional competencies.
Qualifications
- Qualified in Phlebotomy
- Confidence using IT systems (experience with Systmone desirable but not essential).
- The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
